Why Start Sleeping Resources?
I started Sleeping Resources in 2011 to help a friend of mine who suffers from chronic Insomnia. Sleep disorders can ruin lives and endlessly hunting for information on the internet doesn’t help, especially if the useful stuff is spread across thousands of websites and buried behind spammy pop-up ads and pharmaceutical ads.
My friend’s struggle inspired me to build a central hub that provides useful information and answers to those difficult sleep related questions.
The bed is a bundle of paradoxes: we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late.
-Charles Caleb Colton
Now, personally, I’ve never suffered from insomnia or anything more than occasionally over sleeping. I’ve always been able to get about 8 hours each night, I don’t drink coffee, and I love using my snooze button. Even so, I’m fascinated by psychology and mental illness and want to do everything I can to help people treat what ails them by getting them the sleep their bodies and minds so desperately need.
Who Writes for Sleeping Resources?
I’ve done my best to put together a crack team of writers, researchers and editors to publish articles on everything from how to treat sleep apnea to how to find the best mattress for your body type. I’m confident that even if someone on the Sleeping Resources staff doesn’t have first-hand experience with a sleeping issue they’ve at least got second-hand knowledge and the research skills to bring you the most up to date information available.
Sleep is the best meditation.
